We tried and tested a great itinerary for you with many illuminated houses you can visit in Grand Est and Lorraine area, not more than 1hour driving from Luxembourg.
The houses illuminate from 17:00hrs.

My suggestion is to get with you in a thermos, coffee and or hot chocolate and some snacks to enjoy while looking at the lights
The most popular one seems to be the one in Lantefontaine as the Grinch and Santa are present.
